I have never met such kind owners of a hotel who truly care about their guests. The rooms were renovated in such a way that you would expect the price to be at least double than what it is. Beautiful decor, modern, and exceptionally clean. There are Aveda bath products, coffee machine, water, a refrigerator and microwave. You can't get any better for this price anywhere. I went to a hotel across the street and it was much more money and the rooms were extremely outdated, old and musty and I actually checked out of bc of the conditions. Some people may be thrown off bc the hotel is outdoors, but it really doesn't make a difference. I had also gotten driven somewhere locally when I didn't have my car accessible by someone on the premise. Amazing people and hotel!
It is very clean and spacious, but it's right by the highway. You can hear the cars at night
Best hotel I've ever been to for the money hands down. It's a family owned establishment and the owners are incredibly nice and hospitable. I had just moved to the area and they were very helpful in finding out the best local places to eat and drink. One of the owners even drove me to a restaurant nearby. The rooms are very comfortable and kept very clean. They were very accommodating and all around great people. I honestly cannot think of a single thing wrong with this place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of a hotel.

I spent my past weekend in Hamden for a music convention I was attending in New Haven and truthfully I can honestly say I couldn't have made a better choice by staying at the Carriage House. At first I was a bit skeptical due to past reviews but as soon as I was greeted art the front desk I knew that the new management had changed things. Not only did they inform me of the area and places to eat, but also had a cab service ready to help me around! If you've ever traveled then you know the importanceof reliable, prompt transportation. As for the rooms, they were definitely 4-5 start quality. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, the works, and get this, all of the appliances were new or at least shoo clean you'd think they were! As a matter of fact, everything from the furniture to the bathroom was clean to a tee and I just loved the quaint decor and feel. I'm definitely visiting New Haven again and most definitely will be reserving my room at the Carriage House!
