NEVER ONCE DID THEY APOLOGIZE ! NOT ONCE.
Dropped off the car for a small dent and paint. No parts to order. Was told by Patrick that it was a 2 day job ( Lie # 1 ) THREE WEEKS ! First week thought it was strange. Second week he told me to come in the next morning to pick it up. Went out there and it wasn't ready. Said he called. NO CALLER ID or voice mail. Lie # 2. It was "still in the paint booth getting the paint matched up " Lie # 3 Third week I walk into the shop and it was still was being worked on and not painted ( see lie # 3 ) " I'll drop it off to your house tomorrow Lie # 4. ( no credit card , check ok ) lie # 5. No delivery!, called after the holiday and it was done. Will you drop it off to me since this has been a real bad experience? " Yes " Lie # 6. No delivered car that day either. Called on Monday ( 3 weeks to the day ) and went out to get it. " No checks, CASH only.
These guys suck, they lie. It's Maaco, you get a cheap job and I knew that part. But don't take my car for 3 weeks and lie.
The only good reviews here are so obviously posted by the owner / workers it's pathetic.
I had removed parts off my truck so they would have done a good job because of the reviews I read about this place. Worst decision I made ! They told me the truck was ready and on my way to pick it up from Trumbull they called and said it was not ready. So since I was on the highway still stopped by to see how the truck was coming along and it was not even sanded. With so many cars in there parked so close to each other made it easy for over spray and dents TO BE add to my truck. My windows where left down so all the dust went inside my truck ! He told me in 3 days my truck was going to be ready and I paid for the higher end paint job. Week later still not ready even with parts off the truck. All the reviews people are talking about is true! I have old truck and did not want to pay a lot for a paint job because when I sold it would not get my money back. Your better off going to someone who does body work on the side or best bet a professional shop if you want professional work. If I cold give it no stars I would but wont let me because Macco on Dixwell Ave Hamden doesn't even deserve 1 star !!!!
My truck was there from September - March. It has been repainted 7 times and they can't get it right. It's a truck I don't expect perfection but there are areas that are missing paint! Now after it being there since September it's been out 2 weeks and the clear coat is flaking off. I'm cutting my losses and going to strip the paint and paint it myself, I literally could go to the nearest pre school and have the kids finger paint better.
Go ANYWHERE ELSE!
I took my vehicle for body work and had the worst experience ever. Before dropping it off I stopped by for an estimate and was told that it would take 3-4 days to complete. Car was dropped off on 5/9/16. I was told 2 days later that it would take a few more days and that it would be ready on 5/16. I called on that day and I was told there was an issue with matching the color so it will be complete on Thursday that week (5/19) so Wednesday I call and this is what I heard "when your car is finished I'll call you" so I asked what's the hold up "the parts are in back order" excuse me so what have you done "how can I do anything with no parts" I say okay I have to return the loaner car, so I'll have my son get the car, and you call me when the parts come in he says okay no problem. I sent my son to pick it up because I was at work. I came that evening to find my vehicle in my driveway with no license plate. The next day I drive to the shop to retrieve it and was told I don't know what you're talking about we didn't take it off. I have lived in my neighborhood for 9 years and have never heard of plates being stolen off of anyone's car. I was forced to call the police at that point and time to report my plate stolen..the office shared with me that although they can't prove he did it, he believes me because they have been called numerous times to the business because of disatisfide customers. I decided to write a review and dicovered the horrible ratings that I wished I read before dealing with this A-hole.
Stay away, they don't stand behind their work. Couple of years after painting my hood and fenders clear coat started pealing. Looks horrible now.
